When you hit your head against something hard, your brain goes unconscious.
When your brain gets a tumor or another kind of ailment, your consciousness suffers side effects.
When your brain gets older and develops conditions like dementia, your consciousness suffers the effects of it.

So when you die, when your brain stops functioning completely, why would consciousness continue?

There is no logical or evidential basis for the existence of an afterlife.
The only reason to believe in one is because it makes people feel good and I've never found that to be a compelling reason to believe in anything.

Arguments like 'I just can't picture myself not existing' is simply the result of a lack of trying to.
You know what it was like before you were born, it will be the same after you have died.
It won't be an eternity of staring into nothingness because you don't have eyes if you don't exist.

I don't find this outcome sad or depressing in the slightest. It is liberating.
If all is for nothing, all means nothing, and all will eventually be nothing then it is nothing to worry about.

Bruh you hit me right in the feels with this bit "Arguments like 'I just can't picture myself not existing' is simply the result of a lack of trying to.
You know what it was like before you were born, it will be the same after you have died. "

Gets you thinking a lot

I don't think there is anything after our life, but I'm always optimistic with these things. I mean who would actually know if there is? Nobody.

Being raised in a Christian family and went to church I 150% beleaguered that afterlife is bogus. When you die, you die.

I believe life is circular, just like everything else.

You come into life with no memory of it and you will
most certainly leave life with no memory of it.

So even if you are reborn again you will never remember your previous life.
