I'm sure this topic has been brought up before but I thought i'd give my opinion on it because as of know, this problem is worsening every day.
We've all see them. The absolute exasperating, boring, useless inconvenience that is, the post booster.
If for some reason you don't know what a post booster is, let me enlighten you. A post booster is that male or female, who lurks the mainstream TTG forums looking for threads to post there unwanted, useless nugatory comment to boost there post count.
I'd say around 50% of them inhabit in the news section of the site (a dark, spine chilling forbidding place, similar to the deep depths of hell.) Here is a picture comparison for those who have never had the displeasure of visiting the News Section *shudders*.
The other 50% of the notorious post boosters, as I said, inhabit in the main stream threads of the site such as the:
-General gaming
-Off-Topic Discussion Forum
-Graphics forum
As of now, there is no known cure for post boosting but with all of our combined help, we can help fight our way through the hoards of purposeless comments that haunt our TTG forums.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. One day, we will beat post boosting.

Boosting this thread thanks man <3
But seriously this is TTG man you cant expect everyone to be a high quality member. Theres obviously no way post boosters will stop being post boosters. If i want to go to a thread and post something sarcastic then so be it i can care less about my post i just like to make people laugh and by knowing that i get a thumbs up. This is TTG and so far i see no disrespect from the obvious members who do it. Now i can agree with members with 3k post in a matter of a month but still theres no way in stopping this. Your argument is more of an assumption you cant really know if there intentions are to boost there post count or they just dont have much to say about the topic
PS - This is no disrespect to you its just my opinion on the subject.

I understand where you are coming from but in my opinion, if you have nothing useful to say about the topic then dont say anything at all.
You can't say you don't get even a little bit annoyed when you see 'little John' commenting 'i will not be getting dis as i didnt like the last 1' in the News Section when a new game is set for release.
I know this problem will never be resolved, hence the reason I treated it as a joke, but as, I said, I was just stating my opinion.

I agree that post boosters are annoying and all, but post count doesn't matter at all.
It's just a number on a tech forum, in the end of the day, it is irrelevant.
(short af reply, inb4 post boosting)

Haha i cant argue with that. i agree it will annoy me. it bothers me when members post in giveaways "Im not entering but thanks for the giveaway" I guess its the show your appreciation but its unnecessary in my opinion and if you wanted to show appreciation just thank the topic.

It's a forum, you'll always going to get the people who spam and/or shitpost.
That happens everywhere. It's just a number on a page at the end of the day, there are many more things in life that you should be worried about.

This is a forum on the internet. There is always going to be those who spam and shit post. The way to stop this is to use the feature we have at our finger tips and report those users. They will not only have their shit posts deleted, but may also get banned/warned as well. Do your part and make TTG a better place to be.

Does it really concern you that people post sh!t? Does it effect your life so much you have to create a rant about it?

Now I know what "Post Bossters" are now, thanks for telling me. This doesn't grind me to make a topic about it because for others it's a sort of thing to keep to yourself. Just report the topic and move on, it indicates the Moderators to sort that problem out. This doesn't make me mad because at the end of the day I know there's enough members to report the member/topic for their topic to be closed.
