Just there on Facebook, I've seen two video's shared one of a slight overweight women working on her squat from with a lightweight, who's being filmed by what I imagine a very average bodied guy with a bit of an ego because hes been training a little while as he mutters and giggles at this women.
Saying "look at size of her thighs and she cant even lift heavy, shes so fat" then laughs."

I find it insane that people are sitting watching this thinking its great and deserves a like, when most of the people liking and mocking this women are most likely insecure about there own body image.
I have the most outright respect for anyone in the gym who maybe isn't in anywhere near good shape, but the fact is there putting in work to change their body in order to feel more comfortable, it's the people who video and share and like that discourages people to go to the gym because there afraid of being judged, watched and mocked by others.
Same goes for people that mock guys for how much they lift I've been training now for little over 4 years, and I discontinued training with the guy I had been from the start because young kid maybe 14 approached us asking if we could watch and correct his from on an excercise we both agreed. As the kid began (form wasn't very good but had room for improvement) my mate burst out laughing instantly the kid stopped what he was doing, red in the face from embarrassment. I just explained my mate was laughing at something else and told him to do it again and corrected his form and refused to train with my mate again.
No one deserves to be shot down or mocked when trying to make a good change in their life I believe you should only push people and drive them to better themself's.

Agree with the whole post. Fair play for not training with your friend again after that.
It's usually younger/immature people with that mindset. If I see anybody over weight working out I only have respect for them for doing it.

I see where you're coming from, being in the gym seeing big sized overweight people at the gym and you have a friend that goes to the gym with you and mocks people the way they're because what they look like or what size they're as a person. Which I don't understand that your friend is laughing at people when he's going to the gym himself. I'm NOT saying that he's a big person as I don't know him as person but his logic doesn't add up. Same with you I would block him out and not be his friend/ go to the gym with him. Actually I wouldn't say we're not friends because he laughed at someone who was a different size to him because that's too far. Moving on Facebook now, people like the video because of that certain video anybody could laugh is horrible to believe that is a thing on Facebook. We would think Facebook will sort video's out like them but no. Nice topic man.

No one starts working out looking fantastic. You have to start somewhere and if your judge others for trying youre the biggest piece of shit. The same people who make jokes about fat people in the gym are the same ones who drive their mustangs and mock others for not sinking themselves into debt and driving a mustang too. I also find it hilarious at work my co workers will joke around (I guess joking idk its **** annoying though) "why are you vegan? You wont make gains that way LOL be a man eat meat" really you are no worse than the person mocking overweight people.
TL;DR - dont be a ****

I agree, I don't see how people expect newbies to know every single stance and every technique to lifting things, if I was to go to the gym tomorrow I would be absolutely clueless to what I'm suppose to do and which way I'm suppose to stand or squat
Like people have said above me, you have to start somewhere, not everyone goes to the gym starting off like big Arnold Schwarzenegger

Don't get butthurt but I will speak my mind on this topic.
People only talk about how people who are newbies or overweight are being judged but hide the fact that people who decide to get fit and are fit usually get judged all the time. For example I was considered overweight at one time and I decided to get fit. I get judged more now then I ever did then. People also hear people making jokes about being overweight but if you dont know their past it is not a topic you should speak upon. I have people who admire me but I also have 3x of many people who hate me just because im fit. Like for some reason people will get mad about me because ill make a joke about who I used to be but once I teach them a little history about myself I never hear them say it again. Dont judge a book by the cover should they be skinny, overweight, swole or whatever you want to say. One thing I have learned about most people who get hurt by comments is people who are close minded and need to look at the bigger picture. Usually the most humble people tend to be the people who people think are cocky. I for example never ego lift but I lift alot more than most and I see people everyday who ego lift and make fun of me for not lifting as much. The funny thing is once you ask them to do a full range of motion they try to turn the situation back on you. For example I was working out with someone 8 years older than me yesterday who has no physical disability. He was getting frustrated just because I was correcting his form but since he has been doing this longer than me he knows more.
P.S. I have helped over 300 people get to the best fitness of their lives with age ranging from 14-60 so before you judge just know I want the best for all.
