So today at my civics class we were talking about internet privacy and how we were not as protected as we think we actually are. Then out of no where I hear "but my Instagram account is on private so they can't do anything."

Now I don't read ToS for any sites, and I know most people here do not read through the entire ToS but I heard about what these websites like Instagram do, they take your photos and sell them online, basically sell your information for money. And you can't do anything about it because you say you read through their ToS. Since no one knows shit about anything in my classes, it really pisses me off. Basically thats it lol, needed to say that.

People don't understand just how important it is to read the Terms and Conditions.

Where I work we state very clearly in our T&C's that if you decide to cancel your case with us before we are able to complete the service [which is how both the client and the company makes money] you will be charged based on how many man hours of work have gone into your case.

The highest amount we've had to charge someone was 150 GBP because their case was very close to being completed. They refused to pay their invoice and of course deny any knowledge of a cancellation charge, but it says it right there in the T&C's, right next to their signature.

It can take a while to read through Terms and Conditions, but it is always worth it to know what a company will do with your information or just what you are agreeing to.

People are so brain washed and not know what they're talking about sometimes. One click to save your privacy settings isn't got going to stop thefts, hackers, etc.. System control. I read any sort of ToS before I go on any sort of site, so I know something about the site and what it means being part of that community. It does take time to read the ToS but at the end of the day I read the whole of ToS.
