It was the best in MW2 when someone would bitch about OP guns. Since I played competitive I'd mainly have 9 classes with competitive geared equipment but my tenth class would be something ridiculous like akimbo MP5K's or something. So as a group we'd pull these out in pubs (at the time finding scrims was hard) and we'd clean the lobby with these shitty sub machine guns. If you were top 20% in that game you could make anything work and at my peak I like to think I was one of those guys.

Unrelated: I'm so depressed about how games from my middle school years have turned out. What I thought was barebones COD is now viewed as old school, no jetpacks, one attachment only, only one grenade etc. I feel old as shit. Halo has been better but the graphical overhaul it has taken is a bit much. My nostalgia feels man

To be fair I understand the kind of thinking even though it is annoying, there are players that will only use said OP gun and nothing else. These players tend to abuse the system in a way that the guns which have ridiculous stats compared to everything else, kill you in half the bullets as everything else, have hugely increased accuracy compared to everything else..

Honestly it doesn't take any kind of skill to use these weapons which is why new people to games are able to do so well when abusing them and why good players or half decent players get annoyed when they get outgunned by someone shooting them twice in the big toe after spraying a full clip of something into the other players chest.

I don't care if a gun is "OP" if I like how a certain gun plays out, I'm going to use it. Battlefield 4, the ACE 53 CQB is arguably one of the most OP guns in the game, decent fire rate with it's damage per second, low recoil with stubby/potato grip on it, damage output is rather insane, on hardcore, that thing is easily a one shot in the chest from medium ranges, yet god forbid you use a gun like that. There are other guns that do more damage, the Scar for example, on hardcore, thing is a monster one shot kill weapon with very low fire rate, the DMR semi auto snipers that people just spray at you, shotguns on Metro/Lockdown, good luck in CQC, yet you use the ACE 53 CQB and all hell rains at you. Even then, I don't stick to "OP" weapons, I get bored of using the same thing over and over, where I'll switch it up, even try out some of the "underpowered" weapons and sometimes they'll surprise me with what they're capable of.

Whenever I jump into CoD, people like to complain about what weapons you're using and how you should use (this weapon) in order to get good, yet they're not using it, if not using the same weapon you're using, just they're bad with it....logic right?

I too play hardcore, I play hardcore on every FPS game that has it. Its funny you mention battlefield, now dont get me wrong I love me a good battlefield game but I find it hilarious when people use the "realism" of battlefield as a contention when arguing about what game is better cod or battlefield. The same people that say battlefield is super realistic are the same ones who cry about people using the ace 53 and getting shredded. ITS A GUN, how many shots can you survive from a gun? "OP" no its a gun, it should kill you fast and its hardcore. I dont even use "OP" guns all too often, I like to use whatever visually looks attractive to be honest weather it be a DMR an LMG or whatever. Its just one butthurt user will catch me using a more popular gun and call me trash because they happen to see me using a gun they think is for noobs.

I paid for the game, im going to use whatever I want. If you have a problem with that rent your own server and make your own rules lol

The sad thing regarding the ACE 53, is it is/was banned from ESL, so people assume you're supposed to not use it in public servers....but like you said, they can rent their own server and fix that issue. Battlefield seems to have a lot of people who complain on hardcore, more than CoD does. You sit near a flag on BF, people tell you to get good and play the objective (what.jpeg), you use LMGs, people tell you to get good, use the ACE 53, tell you to get good, ect. CoD on hardcore, people just call you a hacker lmao.
