Why I'm making this thread? Well back in December I had an accident, I hit a deer coming back home in the middle of the night. Fortunately not a whole lot of damage was done to my vehicle, I received a quote a month ago and was told I should look at Maaco for paint services. After being told this I was kind of on the fence about wanting to get a new paint job or not. I've looked up reviews online but wanted to see what you guys thought about Maaco. I know the price is what will make the quality and all that. But is it worth the money getting a whole new paint job for my car?

What was the quote and what vehicle do you have? If it's a newer vehicle with lower miles then I'd get it re-painted. If it's like a 1980's Honda Civic with 300k miles, I wouldn't be repainting it lol. One great thing about Maaco is they offer a super cheap paintjob if you plan to just paint the vehicle and sell it, all the way up to a quality paint job. I wouldn't take my truck to Maaco for a quality paint job though just because they offer the cheap one. They might charge you for the expensive one and use cheap materials.

The vehicle is a 2010 Mustang with 60k miles on it, quote was about 500. If not somewhere around there. And I was thinking about going with the Premium, if I'm getting the car repainted might as well throw some racing stripes on it too and be happy with the cost. But I was hoping someone with past experience would help mine be a little more comfortable by going with them as there aren't many youtube videos on their work.

Don't get the racing stripes painted on your car. From a labor stand point you will probably be doubling the cost of labor. They will paint the whole car the primary color, then go back and tape off where the stripes are then paint the stripes on. Just get the vinyl stripes.

My friend had his truck painted at Maaco, he got the cheap one because he was selling the truck but it still turned out nice. The only thing was that if you really looked you could see where there are paint runs and minor things like that, but to 99% of everybody looking at your car, it looks like a decent paint job. This was on an older Chevy pickup, like lower 2k's or upper 90's.

Wouldn't hurt to ask them how much it would cost to do it firstly, but that is was my plan to get the vinyl striping down. Honestly if the cost isn't as high and it turns out great. I don't see a problem with paying for it.

And yeah, I've seen reviews about people getting the higher quality jobs done with minor problems that only they recognize but to everyone else it's a great paint job.

I highly advise you not to get a maaco paint job

$500 is a cheap paint job.

Go to as many places around you that offer a paint service and get a quote and ask how long it will take them to it all.

What is your position against Maaco? Just trying to get opinions from different people. This is a big thing for me to just repaint my car ad spending this kind of money. Which would be roughly 800 dollars for the premium package.

Dont do it. $800 for a premium is sketchy. Guy I know got his 72' Chevelle painted, cost 4k. Thats NORMAL.

I real paint job would cost triple that or more.

Maaco paint jobs are crap. There is a reason they are cheap.

My dad got his 67 Impala repainted there, needless to say you get what you pay for.. Paint on the chrome trim, trunk lock, they barely took any precaution before painting. The paint itself doesn't look bad but the way they prepped it I personally wouldn't go there.
