Hello everyone, tomorrow i'm going to be ordering these parts (Unless convinced otherwise) and would like some input on them. I've done extensive research on everything, and i'm most indecisive about the motherboard and the GPU.

To further expand on the motherboard situation, i've read a lot of bad and good reviews of the Maximus VIII Hero, however it matches my color scheme perfectly and it has superior sound compared to that of the GIGABYTE Gaming 7 (My other MOBO choice)

With the GPU, I was considering doing 980 Ti SLI. However, after talking it over with some friends, I believe that would be overkill. I only game at 1080p 144hz, so I don't think the SLI would be used to its max potential.

Any comments/thoughts are greatly appreciated. (P.S. I already bought the case)

What case did you buy? Do you need peripherals? If not, what peripherals do you currently have? What will you use the PC for exactly? What's your budget and currency for everything(USD, CAD, NZD, AUD, etc)? Will you be overclocking?

I'm terribly sorry, I forgot to include the list. I don't need anything other then the parts listed in the link.

Alrighty. Well, firstly, buying two 144Hz panels makes no sense to me. They're going to be useless, or at least one is. If I were you, I'd get a 1440p monitor for the center panel and a nice 1080p as a side panel since you won't be gaming on two monitors anyway.

You still haven't told us what you'll be using the system for exactly. Also, what keyboard and mouse do you have? If they're sub par, I'd recommend using some of your $2300 budget to update your kb+mouse while you're at it.

Just going from your list. Almost $350 cheaper but will perform identically to your list. However, the AIO is better, the fans are better, the PSU is similar quality but cheaper. RAM is significantly cheaper for the same capacity, and you still have the option to add more, whereas with your choice, you'd have no upgrade potential without buying an entire new kit. No need for a $200+ motherboard. I'd probably go with an MSI Z170A SLI Plus, or a Z170A Gaming Pro, personally. Nicer monitors AIMO, IPS as opposed to the TN panels you were looking at. 1440p for the center panel since anything less than 1440p with a 980Ti is ridiculous IMO. Heck, you could even go for a 1440p 144Hz panel if you really wanted.

Have you considered trying a 4K monitor? Maybe two? Your budget seems large so I'd imagine you could afford it and your GPU could definitely handle it.

You could also downgrade your GPU to maybe a single 980 and have a triple monitor setup with 144hz 1080p monitors, that would be insane.

Listen to what Sanctorum says, he knows his PCs. He hates 144hz though

Definitely don't get a 980. It's premium over the 970 isn't worth it, but a $2k+ budget deserves a 980Ti. I personally don't like 4k, I'd go ultrawide or 1440p. OP could easily get a nice 1440p 144Hz panel within budget if he wanted. Personally, I'd go with a higher resolution, instead of 144Hz, but if you play a lot of competitive games, 144Hz can be beneficial.
