So I'm at uni and my internet sucks in my student house. I struggle to play black ops 3 online sometimes as it lags now and then! I also have Elder Scrolls online and I was half and half with playing that, I could usually play on my own but other people around me lagged on my internet. I played the beta for The Division and there were people in the refugee part which was fine and I didn't see any other people unless I went to the dark zone (or whatever it's called)

Is it the same as that? Or in the full game, are there people everywhere?

It hasn't got any offline but you can play single player online where there will be no-one else in your game. that should still be fine

So for example, I could play online and if my internet is having a bad day, I can just switch to solo? Or do you have to start a single player campaign and stay in it?

You have the option to play the solo missions by yourself or you can go "Online" and play the same missions with your friends. The only time where you'll see people running around is the darkzone which i haven't notice any connection issues/lag
