What would you recommend for me to get the best bang for my buck? Just for the computer not including monitor keyboard or mouse

No one is going to recommend a budget. You spend what you can. Whatever money you have available, and are comfortable spending is your budget. I thought your budget was $1k including peripherals?

$900 rig, but I included a 1440p monitor as that's what I'd recommend with this system. XFire support if you upgrade the PSU. I'd recommend spending a little more on an EVGA 850W GQ, that way you can add a 2nd 390 at any point. If not, you can get the 650W unit now and upgrade to a nice 850W unit in the future for XFire support.
