A family member has approached me and told me a 17 year old boy has asked to kiss her and asked her to be his girlfriend he lied and said he was 15 but that is a lie ? is there any law against this, she has blocked him now but i don't want him doing it to another young girl as it has caused stress on her ?

Technically speaking, no. There is no law. It is frowned upon by literally everyone, but there is no law stopping them from talking. Once he turns 18 though, it will become illegal.

He lied saying he is 17 but he's older? There is no law about talking to people like that under 18. It also depends on your state (if you are in the US) because each state has their own laws.

No, I don't believe so. I wouldn't talk to a 12 year old when I'm 17, I'd feel like a pedophile.

Yeah no law about it. But your state may have a law specific for it if you look into it.

Pretty sure I just answered this question. No, there's not. He's not 18. It's not illegal.
