It'll most likely go down or be the exact same. It's a 1.3L with 4 doors and its newer with more safety features than the Buick. It's one of the cheapest sportier cars to insure.

as you are a new driver your insurance will most likely go up, You technically stop being a at risk driver at 25 and your insurance rates will go down. I moved from a 2007 Chevy Impala to a 2011 Chevy Cruze RS and my insurance went down $17, Color of the car and the type of it will matter, Suh as if you have a Red car, Your insurance will be higher than if it was blue. I would say a average premuim for 6 months should be $1000 or slightly less. Some Insurance companies base quotes off of your credit score as well so thats something totake note of too.

Although what you're saying is correct, you're not taking a few important factors into consideration.

1. He is 18.
2. Even though they're slow they're still considered to be a sportier car.
3. Every young guy who owns one typically wraps one around a tree.

Insurance companies are more than aware of all 3 of these facts. Your insurance will more than likely go up, but how much it will go up will remain unknown until you make the right choice and call your insurance agency.
