What are some good cars that are under 6000 and are 8 cylinder? I was looking at the mustang GT 85' but was not very sure if there was any better cars that were good to modify.

Look for a lower 2k's Mustang. They don't look the best, but in my opinion they have the best V8 a car (in that price range) can offer. I'm an American guy though, I don't know much about foreign cars, but to me the Ford 4.6L 2v is the best V8 on the market. This is the same engine that you'll find in the Ford Crown Victoria's that the cops use and abuse the hell out of, and it's the same engine you'll find in a half ton pick up. It's a tried and true engine that can take a ton of abuse with very little recourse. If you take care of a 4.6L, it'll out last any nut or bolt on your vehicle. The Ford 4.6L is the gas equivalent as far as reliability to me as the Ford 7.3L diesel.

Personally I love the Toyota/Lexus 1uz v8, it is reliable as hell and performs spectacularly. I've got one in my Toyota Crown Majesta, currently on 220,000 kms and has not had a single issue with the engine this whole time (knew previous owners, service history etc).

AS 002 said the 4.6 is very reliable. BUT if you want power, youre gonna have to go blown if you want more than 300hp or you will need to invest serious cash. Im going blown on my 03 GT, and will be making around 404 Wheel HP. If you want nice bolt on power, go with the LS1 camaros. I just dont like them since theyre so ugly (which somehow they are growing on me).

Highly suggest the 4th gen Fbody Camaro/Trans-Am/Formula with the LS1. Come stock with easily 325hp and can be highly and easily modified to achieve well beyond that.
You can get a Fbody with 100,000+ miles on it for around 3-8K...but remember, they are straight out of the 90's. Nothing modern in them. Your basic AC/Heat/sound system
In addition, you can also look at the 4th gen Camaro.Trans-Am/Formula that are years 93-97 instead of 98-02 for cheaper prices, they also look slightly different.

He says his budget is 6k lol, linking him to a Chevrolet website won't help, they sell new vehicles. On top of that an LS engine brand new isn't 6k rofl. Not sure if he's planning on a 6k down payment, but maybe lol.
