I'm looking to buy a graphics card that will run just average pc games at good settings. I've been playing with the intel integrated graphics (4600) and it's done me well but details for games are basically non existent with it and frame rate is crap usually lol here are my specs
Cpu- i5 4590
8 gig ram
1080 ips monitor
Case- nzxt s340
Budget-I was looking to get a gtx 970 but for I feel that's overkill for games like dayz the forest... Basically what I am after is something that will run games that aren't AAA titles. I bought resident evil 4 and can't even play it and I'm wanting beam NG but I've been told it won't run without a card. So budget is best value for these types of games indie survival I guess. so if 100$ will do it great but if someone has a higher recommendation that costs more then please tell me

GTX 970 is pretty far off from a $100 budget. We can't really do anything without an actual budget. We also need to know what PSU you're running to suggest a compatible GPU.

Yeah I know it was about 300 last time I checked. I just thought that may be a little overkill for what I'm using it for. I'd like to go cheaper but I want good performance for my games so I'll keep it 1-2 hundred if that's possible unless someone recommends more money for better performance

The PSU is a sea gate I can't remember exactly what it is, it says 100-240vac on outside if that gives anything if it doesn't I can open case

The absolute best card for the price which will play the games you want to play is the gtx 750ti. Its right around 100 bucks and I know if can play high spec games because my friends plays ARK with it.

After seeing videos of the 960 running fallout 4 on ultra with 45 fps it seems for 159$ On newegg [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] that it can't get better than that. I think that will be the card I get thanks for the suggestion!

Pick up a 380, about $180 but is a lot better than a 960.

The GTX 960 is not a good card at all. GTX 960 and GTX 980 are terrible cards for the price. The GTX 950 is slightly worse than the 960 for a good bit less. The 380 wipes the floor with the 960 for the same price. The GTX 750Ti isn't a terrible card, but I definitely wouldn't suggest it for you. An R7 370 would be better than a 750Ti, but the 370s are a little over-priced IMO.

$229.99, $219.99 with $10 rebate. However, you can get this 380x for like $200, maybe $210 with the promo code, if you buy before the 20th.

If you need something cheaper, you can get this;

Not going to be as good as an R9 380 or 380x, but it's cheaper.

Here's some R7 370's if you want something cheaper;

Wow thank you so much that's what I was looking for. Would you suggest the step up from the 2Gb 380 to the 4gb for the 20$ difference? I may just go ahead and order the 380x just to be on the safe side since I can get an extra 10% off though

If you can justify the extra $20 or so for the 4GB 380, you can justify the extra for the 380x IMO. I'd just go with the 380x, it's a great card for 1080p. If you wanted to save some money, I'd probably just get the cheapest 380 since the price difference between the 4GB 380 and the 380x is minimal.
