You should give Super another shot. If you are a Dragon Ball Series fan like I am Super might start off terribly for you and lose your interest. But skip the Battle of Gods and Ressurection F sagas and go to the good parts. The build up the tournament starts at 30 and everything goes off from there.
Dragon Ball Super at first didn't have the funds to make the animation amazing but it is finally picking and the episodes just keep getting better. To me, Dragon Ball Super from Episode 30 on is a combination of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. So give it another shot. It is not my favorite series and isn't even my favorite Dragon Ball series. But it is getting to infinite possibility type of territory and it keeps impressing me.

I did start watching it but for dragon ball i really dislike the japaneese voices as i grew up with the english ones and it really puts me off watching it when i hear the voices

Trust me it did for me too for the longest time. After a while you get used to em. Besides Majin Buu, like wow.

I'm going to have to start watching Super soon, I've been waiting for the episodes to build up before I start watching it.
