The title is pretty self explanatory, just what do feel ashamed about in your country, this can be present day, and past.

For me, probably just having David Cameron as the Prime Minister. He's just a big mistake.

Probably the fact that people, still to this day kill each other because they want a different nationality or disagree with another person's opinion,

I could name a few things if we are talking about history as well, but slavery would probably top my list.

History wise, while i am proud that my country had the most powerful empire in history and also controlled the most land mass of any other empire in the history of the world i guess it would be the way we took over some countries and the way we treated the natives.

The one recent development in the social spectrum that I am ashamed of in my country is that you cannot criticize the doctrine of Islam without being called a racist.
The liberal left has completely failed itself on this issue.
Liberal leftists will criticize the Bible and Christianity until pigs start flying, but if you dare to say that Islam might not be a religion of peace you are a racist bigot.
This is absolute nonsense and no honest or intelligent person should be acting like this.

Much in the same way, if you even raise the idea that perhaps refugees being allowed to roam free across the EU could have negative consequences in a tentative way, you might as well shave your head and start reciting Mein Kampf to these people.

Whether it's feminism, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, non-interventionism, torture ethics, or any other difficult issue where the liberal left has a dog in the fight, a rational discussion is not possible, and for someone who considered themselves a liberal but is now being forced into a very centrist position, this is abhorrent.
