I have been around almost 2 years now, have almost 3k posts and have a couple of badges (literally 2 lol) and I will ignore a topic or two. It's not because I think I'm better than them or for whatever reason different, it's for entirely different reasons.

One of those reasons may simply be that I don't have a popular opinion and I don't feel like starting a flame in the topic. For example with the guns you can see where I start a lot of flames in a lot of those topics, but for others I just don't feel as strongly about it and don't want to get into it with the unpopular opinion.

One of the biggest reasons I'll ignore a thread is simply because of my lack of knowledge in the subject. For example if a newcomer (or anyone for that matter) posts a thread asking how they can bulk up or gain muscle, I'll stay out of it as I don't have much experience in that type of thing. Every now and again I might share what I did and what helped me but for the most part I'll leave those topics for someone who is a little more qualified to answer for people.

Lastly, there's some topics that are great and I just don't know how to respond. I hate responding with "good job" because it's just spam. If you put out a topic like that, you know you did a good job and don't need everyone saying you did. I have a few threads that I put a ton of work and effort into and don't have many replies. I don't think it's because people think it's useless, I just think they think similarly in that just saying "good job" isn't much and really isn't worth posting.

TBH, if I have 0 clue on the subject someone posts about, I won't spam it with crap, I just won't post at all, some people just need to realize that not everyone is knowledgeable in everything.

Half the people answer their own question in the post or if someone has answered a question, why say the same thing? I hardly post because of those reasons...

This is the type of stuff that deserves to be ignored.

Gives no reasoning or explanation to the subject in discussion.

I will ignore lots of topics of not even check half the forums since I am either not knowledgeable in that subject or dont have something interesting or important to add.

I have NEVER seen anyone think they are better due to a few different pixels.

I think you're over reacting to the shout box, it takes time and effort to communicate with the majestic species that dwell in it no matter how many badges or rep.

You're right, none of that stuff does matter. It's not even what makes a user popular or more entitled than any one else. Just being part of the community and contributing is what gets you to stand out. It's the Internet dont let that stuff get to you. In the end nobody really nobody should be feeling more important than anyone.
