I have been interested in dayz, and since I bought a new laptop, I was wondering if you could tell me if it would run dayz and other games well. My laptop is a dell Inspiron 15 5000. It has an amd a10 processor, 12 gigs of ram, and runs at around 3 ghz. I am new to pc gaming, so if you could give me some pointers, it'd be great. Open to the idea of hardware mods, but hesitant. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Does it have a dedicated gpu? Which a10 is it?

I am gonna go out on a limb and say no, you won't be able to run dayZ. I haven't played in a long time but the arma engine is pretty demanding and not to well optimized. If you have to ask if you can run it no way you are gonna be capable of hardware mods to a laptop.

If you want to PC game, I suggest building your own PC.

12 GB Ram? Not used to seeing laptops coming out like that. It must be decent enough, if it's running that and at 3Ghz on the CPU. Of course, I'd like know the full specs.

Download Speccy and take a screenshot of it and share it so we can see.

With 12Gb of Ram and a 3Ghz CPU, I'm leaning towards yes..But lets see that GPU first..

I would suggest no simply because, as said above the arma engine is pretty poor, even high spec PCs have trouble running it.

It doesn't sound like it has a dedicated GPU. I have an i7-4790K and a GTX 970 and I barely reach 30fps. So I wouldn't think that your laptop could run DayZ at a playable fps. Sorry but If you really want to play it I would suggest building a PC.
