Honestly, this comes as no surprise from Turkey. People have been saying for a while that there was going to be either a civil war or a military coup inside Turkey. Even if this ends sometime soon, no doubt something else will come from it, whether soon or down the road. Either way, I honestly hope they succeed in removing the mutt of a "leader" over there.

I don't keep up to date with events outside of America, I'm a bit confined, but if military action inside Turkey is what it takes to remove corruption and enable the country to have true and honest leadership, then I support it 100%

I don't want to see innocent lives taken, so I hope they're using strategy and only targeting those directly responsible for the bad situation in Turkey

To be fair, Turkeys military is pretty badass, so you never know, there's a first for everything

People have been injured in the bombings already, 17 police officers were killed (numbers will more than likely change in a few hours,) a helicopter was recorded shooting at targets on the ground, which was close to civilians and soldiers have been shooting at protesters trying to cross Istanbul's Bosporus Bridge. There are more instances but this is enough to say they're just doing whatever the hell they want.

I don't think a single military regime in history has done that.

Turkey's military did it in 1980. They removed the bad actors and held free elections in 1983.
The military in Turkey is made up of almost entirely laypeople because service is compulsory for all men.
It is built into the system that the military can remove despots if they pose a threat to the country's security.

I think that you're largely right, but the situation in Turkey is very unique because most countries don't allow these kinds of fascistic military interventions.

About 60 people have been killed during the coup and a mass shootout has happened in Ankara with reports of over 150 injured in Istanbul.
