Your asking if friends are waste of time... You don't seem like a good friend.

I truly believe who you pick and it goes from there as long you trust your friends and who you pick I think you'll be okay.

Example: If you choose bad friends meaning of; They back-stab you or ditch you because they think the other person is better to hang around with..that too me are bad friendship.

002 wrote I don't have many friends, in fact I only have maybe 1 or 2. In school I had a decent group of friends, but when I left school no one stayed in contact with each other. I stayed in contact with those who could help me and whom I' could help. Past that, the rest were just a waste of time to be honest. I know my time is my time, I don't have to worry about Scotty wanting to hang out after work, or Jimmy wanting to go to the range, etc. I do what I want to do when I want to do it and if my mom says it's OK.
Do you have any driving passions or inhibitions that make you feel this way or do you only feel this way because you feel like you should just do whatever you want in your own time?

I was never the popular kid so I just adapted I guess to doing things on my own and that's how I prefer it now later on in my life. I'm the kind of guy that will try anything and break it or myself before I ask for help lol, I've always been kind of a lone wolf in that aspect so I never really valued having someone with me.

Currently I don't do much of crap, it's not like my schedule is so busy I can't go out with people, in fact when I get home from work (or school a few years back), I did nothing. There was nothing do to but I enjoyed knowing I don't have to do a thing. I look at my brother who was the social butterfly and he's always got to shower after work / school, dress up real pretty and go impress someone. I just never cared for that life style so I chose not to lead it.

I also have kind of a selfish approach. To me a friend is someone that if my car breaks down in the middle of the night 3 hours away, they will come and get me (and I'd do the same for them). A friend is not just someone that I enjoy hanging out with. Basically it comes down to, what can you do for me? If you can't do anything for me that I can't do myself, you're dead to me, I don't need you. I know that's a very selfish approach, however I've never been a social guy so I'm not too big into keeping acquaintances lol.

I'm not sure how your assumption is valid lol...it just seems like I've gotten so much done without the help of my friends, you know? I guess I'm like 002 in a sense lol.

It's good to focus o your self, build your skills, but making true friends is also a must.
Even though people go different ways with their lifes, it's good to have a group of friends that no matter how much time passes between visits that you guys are still just as close, everyone needs to worry about themselves from here to there, but to know theirs people there you can relate to, share experiences, ideas, and good times together.

If you find a healthy balance between your friends, and your passion, that is where I think it would be best to stay

Dude honestly you can't have more than one LOYAL & HONEST friend , most are snakes & I been through that before ... wouldn't say they are a waste of time but you just have to see who is actually your friend.
