What equipment do you need to host your own servers?

Or start a web hosting company?

I have a pretty good idea but I want to hear from someone that really knows what they're doing.

Depends on how many clients you will be serving with your services. The more clients that need services the "bigger" servers that are needed, resulting in more heat, more cooling.

Generally, I would say web hosting is less resource intensive than a game server.

Hosting your OWN, personal servers could be done on a high end, specific system if that was its only use, but multiple client web hosting company would be different

There's a lot more to it than this. But here's how you setup your own dedicated web server.

Very helpful... But when you talk about cooling and what not.. I'm asking what specific equipment I need in the first place. Like is it literally a server system that I need? Like these: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If you needs any type of server for customers, for a better experience another failover server would be good just in case any problem arise with your main server, it can get quite costly
