So I'm **** around with this PC I got given, and whenever I try get on the internet, it says "The page cannot be displayed" , I've searched it up online, and it's telling me it's something to do with the firewall, I've changed everything on it etc, reset it to defaults, but yet still get the error. I have installed Chrome on it from a USB stick, but yet the same problem on there, it doesn't like the HTTP shit..?

It's on Windows XP (yes, don't laugh lol, this is a pc to **** around on, not my actual use one). Anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

Thank you.

Uninstall and reinstall Wi-Fi driver, once you're able to connect, run Windows Update to get the latest version of IE and such, unless it already has Firefox or Chrome, and then if that doesn't work, reinstall the OS completely, if it's a screw-around computer anyway.

Something else to try is to see if there's a switch somewhere, some older computers have a manual Wi-Fi on an doff external switch or button, so that's an option to look for also lol

What is the make and model of your system? I can give you the drivers to update the ethernet driver and WiFi driver.

It has been sorted. It was 3 things. First it was the date and time being wrong (which on old os can cause problems) 2nd was the tls and ssl shit on the internet tools was all set wrong, and 3rd was the service pack being 2, not 3 meaning it was outdated.

Thank you all for the help!
