The reality is that you didn't have the dream. It's the same with Deja Vu. Your brain tricks itself into thinking it already has a memory that it doesn't have. In these cases it converts it into the memory of a dream.

The reason why you can't control what's happening is because you don't actually know what is going to happen, but while it is happening your brain is incorporating it into this pseudo-memory.
If you become aware of this effect you might try to predict what is going to happen, and even in chaos theory it isn't terribly difficult to predict what is going to happen in the near future.

I forgot I posted about this, literally hadn't check since I posted it. This hasn't happened to me since I posted this up but it's cool that I'm not going crazy here and it's happened to others.

I used to experience the same kinda thing when I was a kid, I would have the same dream for a bout a week straight and then somehow it would all look familiar in real life...I dunno man.

I somewhat agree with this. When i was younger i bought an airsoft gun except it brok within 4 hours of me having it. So we had to ship it back the next day. When i went to sleep that night, i had a dream where i switched it from single shot to full auto and it worked again. Sure enough i tried it the next morning and and it worked. Like it fixed the problem of it not shooting and single shot mode. Weird huh?
