my domestic success objective is to reduce player wages by 43k a week... how do i do that? i have literally no idea.

I got the same problem. tried to release some players, nothing changed. (try to convince a player to get a reduced wage is not happening in fifa I guess ;) ) so would really want to know the solution also.
I tried to google it, no answers by trying that even

I sold a player and instantly dropped so try that I only sold one to do it
