Same thing kinda happened to me.

I bought a years worth of prime then realized I live in Hawaii & might not qualify for the shipping deals.
So I emailed customer service if I qualify with being in Hawaii and they said no.

But I was able to get a full refund within 2 days.

Amazons customer service is great whenever I have a problem, they are always able to help me through it.

I always get charged for things I didn't want. Whenever I get a free subscription, I end up forgetting to cancel & end up getting charged..

Amazon is pretty shifty about charging you for services you weren't aware of purchasing, but that's how it goes for most online subscriptions. Microsoft, Newegg, Netflix, Hulu - you name it. Luckily Amazon's customer service is one of the best on the planet.
