I'm just trying to prove a point between me and my friend, he's claiming that if you have a 0.00 KD (finishing a game 0-0), your KD will go down. I'm trying to explain to him that's not how it works. Can someone confirm?

For a second I believed going 0.00 in a game will not reduce your K/D but actually, it will. It will decrease it in a very small amount but it does decrease.

Say in game you have 6,567 Kills and 4,557 deaths overall, that would make your K/D 1.44 (actual math makes it 1.4410796577). You play in a Free For All and get 30 kills and 30 deaths, meaning your K/D that round was 0.00. Now your overall kills is 6,597 and deaths is 4,587 which makes your K/D 1.44 (that's rounding, actually math is 1.4381948986)

As you can see, the two K/D's remain the same after rounding but actually the K/D after going 0.00 is smaller than the initial K/D.

So your friend isn't totally wrong, however does going 0.00 have a huge effect on your K/D, no. It does, however, make your K/D go down still.

You're wrong. 30 kills, 30 deaths is not a 0.00 K/D. It would be a 1.00 K/D. A 0.00 K/D would be 0 kills, and 0 deaths. In which case, it will have absolutely zero affect on overall K/D.
