The goal is to do to the opposite of the spray pattern to have a tighter spread. It the bullets go up you aim down. They go left, you go right. With enough practice it becomes muscle memory and you won't have to worry about it as much. Ulletical has a lot of maps that can help you so I will link a few you should check out. Some advice I would give you though is try not to learn them all right away. I would start off with the guns you use most and move to the next one when you feel comfortable. Besides spray control first shot accuracy is very important. If you can get used to aiming at someone quickly and accurately you won't have to worry about anything more than the initial vertical shots. Rather than spraying an entire clip it may also be better to take a second and restart especially with the recent update. I will link it as well. The only time I really considering spraying is when there are multiple people and I am trying to transfer the spray.
Csgo aim update
This video is a bit messed up but it shows what I started doing. I try not to go passed that initial vertical spray.
Recoil master. This is a map that shows spray patterns and where you should be aiming.
Aim Botz. This map is good for warming up and practicing different scenarios
