Why is my monitor doing this? I have a dual monitor set up, the one that works stays perfect at the 1920 x 1080 but the other one cuts off part of the screen at the 1920 x 1080 but fits fine at the 1680 x 1050. Any ideas as to why this would be and how I can get both monitors at the same res? They are the same Acer 27" monitors btw.

+Rep for help.

Thank You

Not to good on computers and all that but I think it might have to do that the second monitor is a odd resoulution.

When I try and switch it so they are both on high res that's when the screen on one of them extends further than the monitor

Probably some bullshit caused by Overscan. See if you can turn it off in the monitors settings menu.

Try Po's suggestion first, see if that worked. If not:

What kind of graphics card do you have? This problem happens a bit to people with NVIDEA. Let me know what kind of graphics card you have and we'll go from there.

Go to Run/Start > type CMD > when command prompt opens type: dxdiag > when the Direct X Diagnostic Tool opens, go to the "Display 1" tab and your graphics card's info will be there. Tell us what kind of card it is, or screenshot the whole DirectX window if you can.

Guys, I fixed it I switched it to 1920 x 1080 then I maneuvered my way through the monitors actual settings and just clicked reset and it reset to the right dimensions.

+Rep for assisting though!
