looking for good formations and custom tactics?

There is no custom tactic that is 'godly' it just depends on which one you find the best, I'd suggest making your own and playing games online to test them out.

fair play what about formations?
been using the 433 (4) which has been good for me however have lost like 10 games in a row now and need to switch it up

4-3-2-1 for me personally.
Set your RB/LB to stay back and your front 3 to get in behind.

I like playing the 4-2-3-1(2) formation
Tactics:
Striker: get in behind
CAM: Stay forward
LM/RM: Stay forward: and cut inside
Both CDMs: Get forward. They usually intercept more plays like this and defend just fine
LB/RB: Stay back

I like what uzi said... before the patch I really enjoyed the 4-2-3-1 wide I haven't used it after the patch but might have to give it another try. If you can afford James he is godly at CAM
