I'd say a year, because i go travelling every 2-3 years and im gone for 7-8 months and all I take is things to wear, phone, laptop and a camera and there will be loads of people who can't get on because they at Uni or they always busy

I think maybe 4-5 years would be understandable for it to be deleted, but like others have said what if they went through a hard time and is unable to log in.

On instagram you are supposed to @ insta on the profile and put inactive but no one ever checks smh

I don't think the name should be lost after any amount of time. It should only be for banned accounts. If it's a time thing and the person suddenly comes back after that time they will be very upset. If it's a banned account they had nothing to lose anyway.

I can agree to this to an extent but, c'mon. 6-12 months inactie and get you're account closed/terminated? It would be much reasonable to be inactive for maybe 3-7 years because some of these accounts are peoples pride and joy. Even if they don't go on them as much or rarely, i would be pissed out of my mind if i had my dream tag and it got closed due to being inactive.

I agree and disagree, if I had a nice username, and my account got taken away, I'd be pissed, but if it was someone's account that was inactive, and they hadn't been on in a while, and I want it, I'd obviously complain, but that's hypocritical. lol

I agree but this will always be a thing, i hate when people comment on " OG Instagram " names and say " Inactive reset @Instagram " if you people leaved the account alone maybe they would reset it, you're just keeping it active.
