I'm looking for a monitor to complete my build. I'm thinking of getting a 34 ultrawide. I play Fallout, gta, & cod type games and want the extra peripheral. LG makes some that I've been looking at but most have free sync and as far as I found from search nvidia doesn't work with free sync. Does it? I don't want to break the bank and want to spend no more then $500 USD on the monitor. Not sure exactly what my system can put out either. Msi z170a gaming m5 motherboard, i5 6600k CPU, msi gtx 1060 6gb gpu, 500gb ssd & 8gb memory. I should add that I'm coming from console gaming on a big 55 inch. I'm even considering a 32 inch HDTV 1080p 60hz just cause they're so cheap with all the deals going on right now.
So what ultrawide would you buy with $500 usd?

You don't need to spend $500 on a good ultra wide.
What size monitor where you thinking of getting?

I really like the 34 inch monitors. Should have added that I'm coming from console gaming on a big 55 inch and the thought of gaming on a 24 inch scares me. I'm even considering a 32 inch HDTV 1080p 60hz just cause they're so cheap with all the deals going on right now.

If I were you I would go with a 32in then, Samsung makes quality monitors I never heard of the problem you originally stated about free sync.

Not going to be the easiest to run with a GTX 1060, but it's a high end monitor, so it wouldn't be a bad option.

Or, if you want a 1440p monitor, you have a couple of decent options for $250-300;

Don't buy a 32" TV. Especially not 1080p.
