I'm just curious as to why people don't use AMD parts, they are extremely cheap and good value yet almost nobody (myself included) has an AMD CPU in their PC? Do they get high temps under load? Or are they just less reliable.

Some people here are extremely biased towards Nvidia. AMD CPUs aren't very good, though.
People believe "intel and and nvidia work better together", which is complete BS. They are also more well known to others.

Because they're not good value.

? Can you go into more detail? An 8 core 4.0 gHz AMD processor is about the same price as a 4 core 3.2 gHz Intel Processor? Does Intel have better cache or something?
I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just wondering.

Cores don't mean shit. Clock speed doesn't mean shit. AM3+ and LGA1151 are completely different sockets. So, an FX-8320 that released 5+ years ago has an entirely different architecture to an i5-6500 that released less than a year ago.
You can't compare two completely different CPUs based on their core count and/or clock speed.
As for them being bad value, an FX-8320 with motherboard and RAM would cost more than an i3-6100 with motherboard and RAM, but the i3 would perform better in the majority of games and leave a much better/easier upgrade path.

Im going to make this short and simple. I use a AMD FX 8370, it all about preference. I can run games perfectly fine, however a lot of people like Intel, and I do too.

It's not about preference at all.
