My birthday was the other day and I was 16, and me and my friends think that we should get mopeds.
Is it worth looking into getting one or should I just save up for a car and lessons next year?

It all depends on what you want to do. A car is more comfortable and can haul more, but mopeds generally are cheaper and more fuel efficient. Personally, I don't think a moped is great for a road trip, but that's me. Not only that but mopeds are a lot more dangerous beings that you have very little protection in the event of a crash. For me and my personal wants and needs, a car makes more sense. It all depends on you and what you want though.

I would say a moped because it's cheap, and it does good intel you can afford yourself a car.

When I turned 16 I never bothered with my bike license just waited the extra year out I did start practising my theory very early though as I wanted to nail it and get on the road as soon as I turned 17. Best thing you'll do is pass your driving test gives you so much freedom. If you can handle the year wait I wouldn't bother with the moped. Not to mention time flies in so you'll be 17 before you know it. B)

I use a moped just to get around town because I live right in the heart of it, its a small town so everything is decently close.
A moped just makes sense in my situation.

It depends what you're doing, the better option would be waiting for a car since its more practical and good in the long run. Although a moped would be ideal if you plan on working or getting an apprenticeship for example I know someone who has an apprenticeship in construction and they use a moped to get to different building sites.
