That list looks awesome! I have about the same specs on my machine. Just make sure you get a PSU that can support the GTX 1080 - a 600 or 700 Watt will give you plenty of headroom here.

The graphics card you chose will eat up any game out today on the highest settings, so keep that in mind if you aren't completely sold on it. Otherwise good luck with the build!

Yes! That will more than cover the 1080. It might even be enough for a second one further on if you're in to that (assuming no overclocking). The build I have similar to this was my first as well. so I'm glad to hear you got it built and running!

After upgrading the 970 you will notice a increase in performance and most likely a decrease in temperature. The 1080 is like two 980s in SLI, so you can imagine the performance increase over a single 970!

If the GPU has both an 8 and 6 pin, aka 8+6 Pin, you need to use both. It is required for the way the manufacturer (in this case MSI) designed the chip. There are probably extra pin slots on your PSU to support this

I hate getting to that lol I have the NZXT Noctics looks cool but it's a far reach for the cables so I haft to unplug them to even pull the psu out an inch haha I was thinking about changing cases I want a full glass side window not just a small cutout and maybe a dim white led

I got a full tower case just so I had plenty of room to work with, especially since it was my first build. Upgrading the case could be useful in that regard, but very time consuming. You could also try to redo your wiring with the new card and make it easier to access things or even just get some better cable management going. There's plenty of videos online you might check out to help you with that too, I know I watched my share of them
