Dear PS4 users,

Here is some added value on how to protect your accounts. Whenever you log onto another PS4, or your own for that matter if you do not log out, then your account will remain on that console. Anyone who has access to that console therefore has access to your account, and perhaps some important information that may be associated with that.

A quick way to help prevent this would to be to add a passcode to get on to your account. Kind of like the iPhone, instead you use buttons to unlock your account.

To do this,
Home Screen > Settings > Users > Login Settings > Passcode Management.

Once you click this, you'll be asked to make your passcode. From then, when you confirm your password that saves. So whenever you go to login on that particular console you'll be required to enter the 4 digit passcode to access the account.

- Why would I want to do this?
A: Adds security to your account, for the sake of entering a four digit code.

- Does this happen on every console I login to?
A: No, you'll have to do this on each individual console you login to. It won't preset this to every console you've logged in on or automatically happen when you login on a new console.

- I know the persons who's console I logged in on, so this isn't need surely?
A: Whilst this is true, if they have friends round who don't know you, you rely a lot on trust. Also, say that console got stolen, your account wouldn't be protected then.

- Do I have to manually do this on every console I login on?
A: If you want the passcode to be associated with that account on that console to have the passcode on, then yes.
