I am currently using a 42" LED TV which is great quality with Netflix, BT Sport, Xbox one etc. However, i just recieved a big bonus at work and i wouldn't mind getting a 4k TV... Netflix now supports it, as does BT sport but i know you need the Xbox One S for 4k support, here a few questions...

1.) Is there enough content that is 4k ready or would you wait?
2.) When viewing something that is 1080p like an xbox one game on a 4k TV, can you still see a different or will it look exactly the same as my LED TV.
3.) Would you buy one if you had the money there or not worth it?

I'd care much more about getting a TV with a higher refresh rate than getting one with 4k right now.

1.) Is there enough content that is 4k ready or would you wait?

Movies? Yes. TV? That depends on your cable company, I believe DirectTV is one of the only ones that have TV packages with 4k; however you can look around for that. Games? Not in the sense that is marketed. Current consoles support 4k, however you will be actually playing on 720p/1080p that is up-scaled to fit 4k, not native 4k.

2.) When viewing something that is 1080p like an xbox one game on a 4k TV, can you still see a different or will it look exactly the same as my LED TV.

You will see a difference, a huge one. 4k TVs and monitors have a bigger resolution, meaning more pixels, therefor more vibrant colours, shading, ect. A 1080p game on a 4k won't look as good as a 4k game on a 4k display, however you will still see quiet a difference. Best example of this, go into a Fry's, Microcenter, a TV store or even a furniture store. Ask for 1080p TVs, look at what is being displayed on the TV and ask if they have a 4k TV, then look at the difference in quality.

3.) Would you buy one if you had the money there or not worth it?

Already do. I switched from 1080p for my TV about a year ago. I recently added a second 4k monitor for my PC. I do have a few 1440p for my other PCs as some games won't run at above 60 FPS on a 4k monitor with max settings, so the 1440p is the next best option for me.

Also for reference, I don't know how much this justifies things as it's a TV being recorded from a camera, but here is BF1 on the Xbox One S, being up-scaled to 4k. If you can find gameplay that is recorded from the game instead of a camera on the TV, that may help things a little better. Put the video quality to 4k when watching.

On Netflix I only know a handful of shows that are great to watch in 4K, for me it's just Narcos and Breaking Bad which I've already seen. There are a few other ones but the selection isn't crazy big.

For video games I haven't seen much of a difference in the quality, probably because games aren't 4K yet so the upscale hardly does much.

I already bought one, I bought a 4K TV that's 49" and I didn't have the S so I sold my Xbox one for $200 and then bought the Xbox one S with BF1 for $300. I think it was a nice purchase, for my 4K TV the quality was great but audio was crap so I bought a sound bar to go along with it which makes everything better. Space it out if you don't have all the money right away, and start listing your current TV (or Xbox if you want) on Craigslist or something so by the time you want to get the new TV you will have more than enough money to get it, and same goes for the Xbox.

Its up to you really. I always tell myself if I really want something and I have the money for it, just buy it.
Not like I can take this money with me when I'm gone, why save it.

4K is great for some shows and or very few games on consoles at least.

Just a few basic questions, are there enough base channels or shows that support 4K in your specific taste?

also what do you plan on playing with? Most shows and or consoles are scaled to 1080 by default on 4K TV's/Monitors.

4k is cool, but not for the price it is lol. Wait a couple years and they'll be cheaper. Hell, I still have my 32" tube TV that weighs 100 lbs so I'd be fine with a 720p TV lol.

If you're gonna use Netflix for 4k you'll have to taking into consideration the amount of bandwidth it will eat up of your connection and if your ISP has caps on your current Internet plan.
