Sorry for such a late answer. There may be many reasons ya'll may not be able to connect but my first thought is that nat type is different STRICT, MODERATE, OPEN and it may be causing a issue.

Try port forwarding, but i'd be skeptical about putting your computer above the firewall with a DMZ, so make sure you're actually port forwarding normally

If both of you have strict or moderate nat types then yes

do you both have legit copies of the game or cracked version? i know that the zombies portion sometimes has alot of problem connecting 2 people you just have to sometimes keep trying it will eventually work i had the same problem before i opened my nat type now i dont seem to have that problem anymore really
