My mate is looking to build a pc. He wants at least 2tb, 8gb and a decent gpu. I was thinking a 1070 but a 1060 might do.
He does a bit of video editing so 12 gb might be good but 8 is fine. No amd processors.
I would put something together but im not home for a while and I will just use what ever you guys put down as a guide.
edit:
m sure all the info was there but here you go
****PC Build Request Form****

Okay, so no AMD processors but what about GPU's?
The RX 480 would be fine for light editing. 1080p would be fine on it as well..
The 1060/1070 is a bit overkill and overpriced imo..
Wait for 13 to respond.

personally im not a fan of amd gpu's. I think nvidia is the better option and you get what you pay for with them. keep in mind I have a amd gpu, so I am no means a fanboy. But if the 480 is considered the better card, its the better card and that is what will be bought. Thanks for your input though.

No, all the info was not there, and we still don't have all the info.
"Peripherals & Monitor: no"
What does that even mean? You dont have any or don't need any? If you don't need a monitor, what monitor are you using?
"Software: He will be video editing"
"Details: for friend. gaming and editing"
This doesn't help. It means nothing. What software will he use? "video editing" isn't a software, Adobe is. What kind of games?

Total: $982.90
Before you(13) come and criticize the shit out of this, give him a reference build since he won't tell us what he already has.
The 480 with some slight tweaking and the i5, should pull a decent FPS in bf1 since that is the only game you linked.. assuming you're going to be running windows 10 DX12 with be fine with this and pop a rough 60-80fps on medium to high/max settings. The power supply is a bit overkill, but if you push the system with a slight OC that you may be able to dial in wouldn't be very much at all so don't bother.
The ram, case, and power supply will need to be imported unless you can find it..
EDIT : I left out the video editing part. This card "should" perform fine in that. It all depends on how he plans to render. so this goes to 13's point "what software".
Assuming he will not be looking at the case much since "Aesthetics: lol no." just went with a simple case, with a decent bit of management in the back. Modular power supply helps out there, the case has 4 drive cages for 3.5 and a internal 2.5, so the SSD and the HDD should fit just fine.
If the case does manage to not get enough airflow a blower card would be worth paying for, if not just grab a few 120mm fans, they aren't much. with the roughly 220$ you have left over. since the CPU is liquid cooled best placement would be around the pre-installed exhaust. You mind as well pick up a couple fans for top intake/exhaust.
EDIT 2: Just realized the 200$ estimate left over was off. This build is a little over 1200aud.
Well if we are talking euro to aud. If not the build is 980$ish AUD alone. so still have around 120$ left over..
regardless what you're expecting is way out of proportion for the price range even with some small specs..
Anyways, wait for 13.
Give us a better list, of what he has what monitor ETC. You left out most of the important details. Examples of games, and what software, SV, AA.. list goes on
