Toastyasf wrote Can anyone tell me what it's like transfering schools I am moving to a town about 30 miles away from where I live now as my mom lives there and I have never been to any other school besides mine and I have went here since Pre-school if anyone could give me some tips to help me get through it that would be very helpful as I am kinda worried about how my life is gonna turn out as I'm transfering at the last semester of school and I am a senior

It;s actually not as bad as it sounds. Here are some tips from myself (moved twice during a school semester previously):
1. Find a social group - Find some sort of group of people who have similar interests to you. Doing so you can gain friendships easily and won't be alone. Freshmen tend to be picked on due to knowing no one.

2. Learn your way around - Know the entire layout of the school so that you don't have to ask for help. That's viewed as being lame and lowers you to another level of freshman.

3. Don't Waffle - DO NOT EVER OVER TALK. Get straight to the point with no explanations. Try to listen more than speak. This will allow you to find out more about people around you and what is going on.

3b. Don't be "Weird" - Going on from point 3 do not act or sound "weird". This can be done by being silent at times when you don't need to speak. Don't act out and keep yourself to yourself. Keep your life a mystery even to your school friends.

4. Don't be a "know it all" - People hate nerds and certain geeks. Be careful what you say and what you do. Your fandoms, are your fandoms.

You obviously won't get along with everyone. That goes for any stage in your life. But just be yourself, and the right people will be there when you need it.

Wish you the best of luck.
