Hey everyone,
a few months ago, ShooterxChick posted this topic telling TTG about our story and our future plans. Back then, I was still in Germany without a permanent US visa in my passport.
Fast forward a few months, in July we successfully completed all the paperwork and obtained the visa I needed to permanently move to the United States. In November, I finally moved to the US. I left my friends and family behind in Germany and it wasn't an easy decision, but I was very happy to be here with my fiancee.
But yesterday was the day we've been waiting for for a very long time.
We finally got married!!!
It's been over 5 years since ShooterxChick and I have met here in TTG's Shoutbox.
The wedding itself couldn't have been more perfect. We are both very simple people and don't like to make a huge deal about ourselves. That's we decided to only have a party with her closest members of the family. None of my family members were able to attend due to financial reasons but I never once felt out of place because the whole family have always treated me as one of their own.
Everyone always reads horror stories about the in-laws of others. But I am one of the lucky ones because I can honestly say that I love my in-law family. They've been nothing but supportive when it comes to me and our relationship. And that's a big reason why we've decided for me to take on HER last name instead of the other way around.
But enough talking, here's info about the wedding day:
We got married at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. It's the same place where we got engaged. The ceremony itself took place outside in front of the Beluga Whale tank. And let me tell you, it was COLD. Before the actual ceremony, I was freezing my ass off. It was a mix of being mostly excited, a little nervous and being VERY cold. But once she "walked down the isle", all I could feel was pure happiness.
We don't have the photos from the actual photographer yet, but here are some pictures that our family took.
It wasn't actually supposed to snow that day at all. But he closer we got to the ceremony, the more of chance of snow there was. And as soon as we arrived at the Aquarium, it was snowing kind of a lot:
We didn't really mind though, it made the atmosphere during the ceremony all nice and winterlike.
What was awesome about the whole ceremony, was that the Beluga Whales were with us the whole time! They would not move at all during the ceremony and it was really a great experience. We were told that one of te main reasons is that they consider the bride as one of their own due to the all-white clothes and that they often come up to "protect" the bride from the groom because he's seen as a Killer Whale:
Here's a picture of Shooter and me right after the ceremony. It's like the Beluga Whales didn't want her to go away:
Here's a picture of the wedding cake. The top layer was cinnamon cake (my choice) and the bottom part was cookie dough cake (her choice) all topped with white chocolate buttercream (also my choice). It was AMAZING! The cake topper was a couple holding / hugging each other... And then there also was a cat, because she loves her cats (sometimes more than me ): )
Here's a picture of us feeding cake to each other, because that's what newlywed's do (right?):
And here is a picture of JUST her. She looked absolutely gorgeous. It was tough to not start crying like a little bitch when I saw her for the first time:
The money that was gathered for us helped us pay my move to the US, Visa + paperwork costs and wedding costs. And for that we will always be grateful. It helped take a lot of pressure off of our shoulders and that's why we wanted to make sure to share new things with everyone here as soon as it happens.
That's about all we have to share with you guys. The next step for us will be submitting all the paperwork necessary so I can get my work & travel authorization and eventually the green card. It'll take quite a while again because the authorities dealing with these kind of things are quite backlogged. But we are happy to be together as a REAL family now.
If you guys have any questions, feel free to hit us up.
Late wedding gifts will be accepted in form of rep, nice compliments and free pizza for life.

Huge congratulations to you both!, I wish you both all the best <3
It doesn't matter where you go in life
What you do...
Or how much you have
It's who you have beside you that counts!
