So today I tried to go on my PC and now when I login in it says there was a temporary problem and then it signs me into a temporary Windows 10 account. I can't get back into my Windows 10 account, I've tried using cmd and entering a code to force me to sign back into my Windows 10, but it doesn't work. I've also tried restarting my PC and then logging into my account but that doesn't work. My Dad works at Hewlett-Packard and often works on PC's (duh), he said that if I leave it overnight it will reset and I'll be able to login to my account again. I think this error is related to an incident that happened last night. I turned off my PC but only the OS powered off, and the PC was still on so I had no choice to power it off from the actual PC itself. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me, even though I've tried everything. Thanks for reading.

Can you boot into advanced start up and try to use an old backup to when you were able to login?

Hope this helps -

1) Press Windows key + R. In the run window, type regedit and press Enter. Click Yes if the UAC warning appears.

2) In the left pane, double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand it. Now click on Software under it. Similarly navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

3) Under ProfileList in the left pane, locate the SID keys which are something like S-1-5-21..some long number. You will see two or more of these SID keys, probably one will have .bak at the end and other one will be without it. The one with .bak is the link to your inaccessible profile and there will be one other that is to the temporary profile you are currently using.

4) To confirm, click on any SID key to highlight it. Now in the right pane, next to ProfileImagePath in the Data row, it will be C:\Users\Your Inaccessible Profile Name. Click on all SID keys like S-1-5-21.some long number and delete the keys that have your profile name next to ProfileImagePath EXCEPT the one with .bak at in the end. Confirm the message and click OK.

5) Right click on the S-1-5-21.some long number key with .bak at the end, and click Rename.

6) Delete .bak from the end of the key. Close the window. Restart your computer.

7) Now try logging in your original profile. If youre still facing the same issue, then we can delete
the remaining key too so that a new registry key is created.

8) Log in through built in Administrator account.

9) First backup all folders from C:\Users\Your Inaccessible Profile Name by copying them to any other drive. You can paste them back later to the same location to get your desktop icons and my documents stuff exactly where it was before. After copying all the data, delete Your Inaccessible Profile Name folder from C:\Users.

10) Navigate to the S-1-5-21..some long number key again. The .bak key will be there again. Delete both the SID keys whose value next to ProfileImagePath is C:\Users\Your Inaccessible Profile Name.
