WD is a good brand and would be good for your needs. I have a few kingston ssds myself the speeds are crazy I can transfer gigabyte files in under 10 seconds that one is a good price too most 240gb ssds are around the same price.

Im probably going to be getting that SSD. I will be putting my OS on it and I just like being able to put games I play alot on it aswell.

I would get a 1tb HDD but the only ones I can find are 64mb cache. Do you know if a 128mb cache is any better than a 64? Ive read a few pages about them but they seem to be very old articles.

Dont get an SSHD, theyre a complete waste of money. Your best bet would be a Samsung 850 EVO. You can pick them up quite cheap on Amazon.

That WD drive is fairly priced, do not consider a SSHD they are a major waste, and a simple corruption could ruin the full drive.

Sandisk, ADATA, Kingston and Samsung all have decent priced SSDs and are fairly easy to presume which is the best for price.

Yeah, definitely don't get an SSHD. Get an SSD and an HDD. 850 EVO is pretty much top dog of Sata SSDs and the only way you're getting a better SSD is if you go NVMe, which for the majority of users is unnecessary. That being said, the 850 EVOs are pretty expensive and SSD pricing has been rising for the last couple of months so a 250GB 850 EVO now costs about as much as a 525GB MX300 cost not that long ago.

and you can easily get an HDD for less than $150 so if you're budget is $150 each for an SSD and HDD, you can get the 500GB 850 EVO. I'd definitely recommend a 480-525GB SSD if you can, especially since RAM and SSD prices are rising and it looks like it's just gonna keep going up for the foreseeable future.

In case you can't get the 850 EVO for less than $175/180 or you just want to spend less than $150, you can get a 480GB Trion 150 or a 525GB MX300;

850 EVO>MX300>Trion 150.

240GB Trion 150, 275GB MX300, and 250GB 850 EVO are all also good options if you want a smaller SSD for whatever reason.

As for HDD, you're not going to see any difference between 32mb, 64mb, and 128mb cache. However, you're going to want to make sure you get a 7200RPM HDD and not 5400RPM or 5900RPM.
