I get your point, because of the spammers and the popular "members" and useless post has really make me lose interest in TTG.
EDIT: Also, this whole rep situation you rep me I rep you lets get a high rep score so we think we are better than others in kinda annoying.

Let me just say my bit before I forget the information I want to talk about. I used to be of of the 'spammers' and when I say 'used to be' I mean I don't post on the forums as much spamming my post count in the Milestone/Introduce Yourself. I'm a honest guy I'm not going to lie to you. I'm just now not interested one bit unless there's a topic that interests me to post on I will apart from that I don't post much anymore. I'm always in the SB. I was one of the guys that cared about my post count and that's whey I've gained over 8,000 posts in one year. I also span in the news section in the Home Tab for my post count and now I'm not bothered, doesn't bother me one bit.
Savitar wrote I feel you, especially with the spammers. But, there is too many problems on this site that won't be fixed. People who get staff now-a-days are a prime example, because all it takes is to sit in the shoutbox all day every day and you'll eventually become staff, sooner or later.
I get what you're saying but I have to disagree on what you've said. I'll tell you why.
This is a prime example =;- I see the user -Hunter (-Hunter) in the ShoutBox all the time, 7 year member not active around the forums but if he was a Moderator I think that would change instantly. Some of the big users that are active and post daily (most of the time) and I think myself they should get Moderator but they're not BUT I think half of it is P2W half of it. I can name a lot of users that should be mod but they're not.
Shiv wrote You say about the people in the SB not being very friendly yet I have never seen an argument in there.
Can you tell me who was 'arguing' at the time. I think it's all banta at the end of the day. If people can't take it on the chin as people say it's not the place for you/and others. I do see people rage quit like Vader talks about his Smite...na for real though if it was a hard argument the staff would refresh the chat, mute that person and most probably ban their privilege from the SB. lol
Marluxia wrote Well these days on TTG you have to have some sort of special badge to stay relevant or even make friends on this site. im sorry but the majority of people here have such big egos that if you dont have some sort of unique badge like they do then they wont even acknowledge you.
Not at all I'll explain why.
I got most badges that other members want and I'm not important to this community at all. The P2W badges is that I bought a T-shirt, or giving out over 30 gifts because I want to give back to this community not for me to think I want to be the big boss around this community. I have no friends on here I speak to in the IM like it's my best friend. Wish people would knowledge me and speak to me in the IM instead of me going to them all the time but that's whatever I don't care less.
Frube wrote I do see where you're coming from and I haven't always received the best experience in the shoutbox, but I don't really care. I've joined a few times, got blanked and just got bored but you just got to try and involve yourself in convos haha.
Yes, yes, yes and YES! That's how I got to talk to people in the SB.
When I first joined the SB, I was thinking I'm basically @'ing myself here. Nobody was responding back like I was speaking to my bedroom wall. Months got on and the guys I do speak to if I can be asked to I speak to and say hello. I do agree with you here though you just have to speak up and get involved with the SB chat.

We are all ancient relics that need to bring forth the memories of the old TTG.
For real though, this forum is still great despite the decrease in gaming, and someone should bring back MW2 lobbies,, cause dat shi wus DOPE
Seriously though, great post! The shout box has always scared me because I was a noob.

I'll admit I used to be the 'spammer' but I learnt to cut down and I never post anymore.
As with the ShoutBox, I am in there every time I'm online and if someone doesn't say hi to a new member they're probably AFK.
'Allt take to be mod nowadays is sit in the ShoutBox'
WRONG: Members sit in the SB to chill from the forums, mods/admins still ban and remove inappropriate posts when they get reports.
EDIT: (For the ShoutBox part)
I can join the ShoutBox late at night or early morning and not get a reply, you just can't always expect someone to be active, even if its mid day

Not true, special badges don't make a user any better or make them get "friends" as you stated. A great way to make some friends is to join in on a conversation in the shoutbox or simply say "hi" and see if someone responds. A greater chance of being ignored but it wouldn't hurt. If you hate getting ignored in the shoutbox, get the hell over it! Once you get acquainted with other users that are in there often, you won't get ignored as you used to before. As for those with big egos, ignore them. They are the lowest quality members anyway.
If Saki is in the shoutbox, post shit like or then you'll get his attention and start talking about anime for hours and weeb up the shoutbox even more.
The man knows me well.
