You are so wrong with "90% of the time some games wont run very well." Unless the person is playing on an extremely low end PC or trying to max the graphics when they shouldn't go that high, IE AA 16x. Dolphin has run every game I have throw at on 4k resolution flawlessly except Metroid Other M and that's due to the shader cache, once I compiled more for the cache the game was as smooth as it could go. Cemu for Wii U games also works no problem, just download the cache file so all textures are loaded and you're set. The only complaint I have with Cemu is some games have bad audio porting with crackling appearing now and then.

This right here. Now if you're trying to save money, an emulator would be your way to go, but anything older than the GameCube era, don't expect it to look pretty being upscaled to 720p, 1080p or higher. Even GameCube games some look really ugly in 1080p or higher but those would be games closer to the start of GameCube's cycle; they'll play, but visuals won't look at crisp as you remember.

OP: Seeing how this post was almost 2 months back, not sure if you got things working for you. If you're still interested in an emulator, it's like $6 a month, but it comes with pretty much every ROM game out there for old consoles. I started using it after Nintendo went ballistic on ROM hosting sites and issued a C&D to pretty much all of them to remove Nintendo games. I don't trust torrent sites enough for games so I opted to just download an emulator. I'm not trying to advertise them, just want to give you a suggestion. It's called Console Classix, they have like N64, SNES, Atari, Sega Genesis, ect. I think it's a great deal you get all those emulators and ROMs for cheap since finding legit ones now can be a gamble. If you know legit sites for emulators and ROMs then more power to you for saving money lol
