I'm looking to buy either one of the processors above. Only thing is I have read that in terms of gaming there isn't much of a difference between them both, especially for the extra £100.
Is it worth going the extra for the i7 or shall I just stick with the i5?
Thanks.

How much are you looking to spend on the processor overall?
What's your current specs?
What games will you be playing?

Currently my specs are tragic.
i7 2600
12GB RAM
ASrock b85m pro3 (TRAGIC)
PLS NO JUDGE :')
I am looking to spend around £550 and at a push £600 on RAM, Motherboard, and Processor.
£300 for the i7 doesn't seem logical as the specs are roughly similar and there is a massive gap difference.
I have a wide variety of games such as Ghost Recon Wildlands, Siege. Them sorts of games. Not to fust about overclocking so motherboard an stay relatively cheap.

We're all happy to help. Once you've posted the screenshot we will have more of an idea on what to work with.

First of all, the CPU and motherboard you have listed are not compatible. i7-2600 is LGA1155, whereas B85 chipset is for LGA1150.
I wouldn't be upgrading from an i7 to an i5. That makes no sense, especially when the i7-2600 will out-perform the more recent i5 in certain games, like Watch Dogs 2.
What's the make and model of your case and PSU?
What are your actual specs?
What exactly are you looking to achieve with an upgrade?
