I'm a trained plumber and I love it man. If you learn all of your stuff it's not hard to start your own business. I'm getting my business handed to me so I don't know all that of the struggle but it's from my uncle who is about to pass from cancer who started it and we make a killing. You can literally charge whatever you feel you need to(not to f anyone over) for the job. Just for side jobs going off on my own i make atleast 1000.
Let me add I did no schooling or have no degrees. Just learned from my og.

If you are not happy with your course then change to what you'd like to do. As a diploma in guessing you're doing that at college. I did carpentry at college and left because it was so shit. Then I was offered an apprenticeship and it's a loooot different and more enjoyable, college courses that aren't an NVQ for trades are a waste of time. But never stay in something that you're not happy with

If you don't enjoy it, don't do it. It's simple, life is too short to do things you don't enjoy. Although plumbing is a trade and as stated plenty of times everyone needs a plumber..
I trained as a sparky (electrician) when I left school, I really enjoy doing it, through that enjoyment it's allowed me to work my way up to a high level within the electricity industry and I now own a couple of properties which act as a second income to me monthly
Tl;dr just do what you enjoy, enjoyment increases productivity and desire to succeed imo
