I'm about to build a new pc but I just wanted a couple other opinions on this. This is going to be my second build, so I'm still not the best at picking out parts.

This build will be for mostly gaming, some high demanding games and some not so much. But if you have any suggestions please let me know because this is most likely not a perfect build.

Just some notes to think about:

1. Budget is $1500
2. I have all the peripherals I need
3. it doesn't have to be $1500
4. I am going for a blue and black theme
5. I need a suggestion for a cpu cooler and maybe some extra fans

If you need to anything else just

Will you overclock?
what monitor do you have? Do you need a monitor?
What games in specific.

An i5 in this budget doesn't make much sense, every budget deserves an SSD.

I have a monitor but i was thinking of possibly getting a new one, not really necessary.

I forgot to mention that I have a 128gb SSD that has never been used (was going to put it in my current rig but never got around to it.

Games: Gta V, Battlefield, Fallout, Csgo, those are just a few off the top of my head.

What processor would you recommend?

Ryzen, better for multitasking and makes a good competitor for gaming.

How much do you really want to spend? (forgot to mention what currency "$" could be AUD or USD)

I'm willing to spend $1500 USD

What monitor do you have?
What 128GB SSD do you have?
If the system is for "mostly" gaming, what else will you use it for?
Will you overclock?

Answer those questions and then we can help you.

I have an older BenQ monitor I bought off a friend, not sure what model and I'm not home to check.

As for the SSD, I was wrong. I actually have a 500gb ssd, here is the exact one: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 500GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-75E500B/AM

Other than gaming, I won't be doing a whole lot but I let my roommate use my pc for graphic design stuff

And lastly, I don't know how to overclock or what to do but if someone wants to teach me then I'd be open to it

R5>i5. Will perform the same in games, but better pretty much everyone else. If there isn't an AM4 mounting bracket in the cooler box, Be Quiet will send you a mounting bracket for the cooler. You could spend a bit more for a Dark Rock 3 if you want, it's a bit better, quieter and looks nicer.
Don't use a 1080p monitor with this kind of budget, you can get a better monitor so I included a nice 1440p monitor. This monitor will overclock quite nicely as well if you decide to do that. SLI support so you can add a 2nd GTX 1070 at any point if you want.

Thank you for all this info, definitely helps a lot. Just some other questions if you have the time.

What are the chances I can get some of the parts in blue instead of red? As I'm going for a blue and black theme but ultimately, I wouldn't mind switching to red and black.

For the other CPU cooler, is that one for sure compatable with the motherboard and CPU?

Thanks again for all the help

Yes, both the Shadow Rock 2 and Dark Rock 3 are compatible with AM4 once you have the compatible mounting bracket. I'm not entirely sure if they're all shipping out with AM4 brackets in the box, but if the cooler arrives and you don't have the necessary mounting bracket, Be Quiet will send you one;

My bad, totally missed that part of your post. Blue or black/blue isn't really a prevalent colour scheme with hardware these days. Mostly you'll find fairly colour neutral components or for the most part, red/orange colour schemes. What I'd suggest is going black/white for colour scheme and then you can get an RGB LED strip and set the LEDs to blue.
