Black ops 1 prestige glitch

So I've been doing the prestige glitch where you watch the files from the community get the infections and host and kill yourself 3 times etc etc..
BUT, my level just won't stick?! I've done it multiple times I've got to level 50, prestiged and got a kill online, I've even attempted to get to level 4 and do a contract, plus going to menu really quick then going back online and NOTHING will make my level stick.
Does anyone know why? or how to make it stick? Thanks in advance!

You have to stay. Once host is set he'll leave. Then next host will leave. And so on. Once you are host then u leave and it'll stick

when you prestige, You have to sign out and sign back in and it should go back to 50 and then presitge again and then go and get to 50 again and just keep doing it.

i know you have to be the host for it to stick. so after you kill urself abd get lvl 50 back out

It must migrate to you for it work correctly then leave ,I used to go to the main menu and back into multiplayer after every prestige or sign out and sign back in also works.
