I've always wanted to get into hacking, I was just wondering where some people start. I don't want to hack for bad but more to protect myself, the digital world is going further and further, just wanna catch up.

Get back track or Kali Linux, they are the starter kit for major stuff. Look up In YouTube what you need to do and follow the steps, I've been using backtrack for about 1 Year and im pretty good at Cracking shit and taking advantage of security breaches, just look up tutorials

Mitochondria wrote backtrack, kali... lolI probably should've put beginner in the title. I would take classes but I don't have much money saved up plus I don't really know what I want to look for. I think back track and Kali will get me a small perspective needed to start hacking.
