I used to be addicted to a game called brave frontier, spent about 400$ in micro transactions on that, quit about a year ago,
runescape im on and off i don't spend too much time on it anymore.

Now smite. that's another story, i'm on it 7+ hours a day, and spent over 2k$ on skins on that game. But i say if you enjoy a game, put money into it, i say its a hobby more then a game imo.

I'm not sure I would say I was addicted, but I definitely used video games as an escape when I was younger. It was honestly where I met the majority of my friends back then. Now I don't play that often anymore, but if I do its in the hopes to reconnect with some of those old friends, or for a new title that is intriguing.

However, I know a few people who've spent an absurd amount of money on in-game content, such as League of Legends skins. They've spent upwards of $500 but don't play enough to justify it.

Yes. From age 12 through 16. Didn't have a social life (outside of the friends irl who played with me), wasn't interested in school. My parents prohibited me from playing during weekdays but I waited until it was like 11 at night and got on to play.

I missed many social events too, my best friend always invited me to stuff and I always said no because videogames > life.
