Got a rgh 360 slim and I plug the hard drive in and it doesn't show up and it seems connected but it comes out easy. Its a 2.5 so it should work. I have a shell cover for a harddrive coming but it won't be here for a month and I don't want to wait a month to play on this.

It shouldn't come off that easily. Make sure you hear like a snap when you connect it

The wires inside the console might not be connected to the MOBO. That could be it or the hard drive is not pushed in all the way. The hard drive could be corrupted as well.

It sounds like you have not connected the hard drive into the slot correctly. Just putting it in the hole and pushing hard will not make a difference if you do not have it lined up perfectly at the bottom of the hard drive hole. (If that makes sense, its late lol)
